About Me
I am a happy, outgoing person. I like to think that I see the silver lining in most situations and try to help others to see the same. I have been incredibly fortunate to be able to travel a great deal throughout my life so far and I am excited to continue travelling.
I currently work as a Research Engineer at a global company, this gives me both travel opportunities through work and also the flexibility to be able to explore the world myself.
I have recently developed a great passion for bouldering and would happy to take you along with me if we meet up. I am also a qualified skiing instructor and enjoy windsurfing, sailing, squash and tennis.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am on Couchsurfing for two main reasons.
Firstly to gain first-hand, local knowledge about the places I am visiting. The best times I have had travelling have always been from local knowledge; whether it be a local basketball match in Zadar Croatia or a bamboo forest in Kyoto Japan. I feel that CS can only add to this as you are literally integrating yourself into a locals life, living and eating with them. This can give you an insight into a country like no tour book can (even lonely planet dare I say it).
Secondly, I have come to realise how incredibly lucky I am in life and I wish to share that with those passing through my city. If that be a base to explore from or even just a hot, well-cooked meal. Huddersfield is a great place to visit, with Leeds or Manchester just a 30min train ride away too. I have a double sofa bed which is super comfy and a 130" projector to watch movies from.
I really want to become part of this community both a surfer and a host.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love to both play and listen to Jazz, folk and indy music. I was also brought up on classic FM and love a bit of Ludovico Einaudi.
Movies: I don't know if I can pick any, in particular, I grew up with HP and LOTR but love a bit of action, thriller and SIFI too. Everything goes pretty well on 130" of HD glory though.
Books: GOT was simply outstanding and can't wait for the next instalment. But in general, I need to read more. Any suggestions?
Teach, Learn, Share
I can officially teach you to ski.
I can unofficially teach you to bake an eight weave loaf, climb a wall and play the Lumineers on guitar. Maybe a bunch of other things too, like 3D modelling or how to calculate the total to static efficiency of a turbine.
I'd love to learn Italian, French or Mandarin in particular but if you speak another language to I would love if you could help me learn a little. I am a keen cook so if you could please teach me a couple of your favourite dishes it will help to expand my repertoire.
