About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To live in as many places as I can before I'm 25 or fall so madly in love with a place that I can't bear to leave
ABOUT ME
I grew up in a rural town in the appalachians in New Jersey. Spent most of my childhood swimming, fishing, climbing trees, cliff jumping, generally goofing off in the woods. Became very interested in photography around age 17 and moved to Portland, Oregon and attended Pacific Northwest College of Art for a year and a half. Decided to pursue Photography on my own and travelled the US visiting multiple national parks and cities. Spent a month and a half most recently in Vietnam and am now on my way to India for the first time.
PHILOSOPHY
I tend to never get too bothered by any sort of dismal situation and let bad things roll of my shoulders and carry a smile on my face. I try to see everyplace I travel to, not comparatively, but as a new and different experience, never better or worse.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I love to cook, take lots of photographs, will try pretty much anything once, am always open to new ideas and experiences.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've never surfed through this website, but I have spent an accumulative couple of months (warmly welcomed) gracing others living rooms. I met one of my best friends in Portland, Oregon after meeting him once and being broke and needing a place for the night or 2. Ended up being invited to stay as long as I needed on the condition I would share some of my awesome cooking skills and make the house an entertaining environment. I couch surfed in San Francisco for 3 days over gay pride weekend with a friend of a friend. Was invited to stay a few nights on a boat in a marina in San Diego. I also did 2 weeks in Springdale, Utah (outside of Zion NP) after meeting a friend on a hike. Took care of their dog when they worked and would cook meals as trade for a roof. I don't depend on the host for entertainment, but don't mind making a new friend on days they might be free.
Interests
Nature, hiking, food, photography, printmaking, art of any medium, making new friends, traveling for as long as i can possibly sustain it.

Music, Movies, and Books
Dr.Dog, The Flaming Lips, The Beatles, Parliament, Toots and the Maytals Would be my big 5, but I am open to everything from bluegrass to jazz to funk and soul to surf rock, punk and psychadelic, as long as its not dubstep.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
A hike to Glacier Point in Yosemite to watch the milkyway rise over the valley.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm very interested in learning yoga, building sustainable architecture, herbalism and homeopathic medicines, and anything involving nature and outdoor skills.
I know a vast amount about photography and printmaking and am always willing to share info. I know a decent bit about living in the woods, not enough to brag or brand myself a true outdoorsman.
