About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To discover alternative realities, different ways of thinking and continue enjoying the company of new people.

PHILOSOPHY

Never take life too seriously. What is the worst that can happen? Am I alive? Yes? Well then all is okay.

ABOUT ME

I have learned that in life, it is really important to follow your passions whatever they might be. Trying and experiencing things has been an important part of my journey so far, as has learning from the mistakes I have made. This has made me an active, open minded person who enjoys meeting others.

Most people I meet on CS seem to comment on my cooking and that I am the most relaxed person they know. I love music and have a wide but selective taste. I am always looking for adventure, experiencing other cultures and listening and sharing experiences.

I am currently pursuing my dream of becoming a research scientist. The past couple of years I have worked as a windsurfing instructor in Greece, completed a MSc and have taken a huge (6000 mile) road-trip around Europe in a van with a homemade bed in the back.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Sharing things with others!
When I am accepting guests and depending on what they want to do, I am always happy to show them around so they can experience the city properly.

I also want to use CS for travel so I can have the same experiences discovering somewhere else.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted quite a few people. I am yet to be hosted but have plenty of experience whilst traveling of sleeping on other peoples couches.

Interests

Climbing/hiking, Windsurfing and all manner of things.

If I had to pin down my interests, they would include most sports with Windsurfing and Hiking competing for the top position, followed by reading, traveling, and understanding what makes people tick.

Oh and I love Whiskey followed by Beer!

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: 1984 - George Orwell/ House of Leaves - Mark Z. Danielewski/ Slaughterhouse 5 - Kurt Vonnegut/ The Road - Cormac McCarthy/ The Phantom Tollbooth - Norton Juster/ On the Road - Jack Kerouac...

Movies: Jumanji/ Indiana Jones..

Music: I have got way too many records and am constantly adding to the collection. I enjoy and appreciate all forms of new and past music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Windsurfed for a season out in Vassiliki in Greece. A beautiful bay with the best wind conditions.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can show you around Nottingham (where to go etc), teach Windsurfing (if I am going), maybe the camera will come out and we can swap photographs or I can talk to you about my main research area.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My experiences, stories and my time.

Countries I’ve Lived In
