CURRENT MISSION

ABOUT ME
love linguistics, travel (duh), languages, knitting, plants, grappling and other sports (tho not great at ball sports--yet!), and chickens (the kind that still "peep"--not the nugget kind) :-) oh yeah, and french food is amazing. last year spent a couple hundred hours at a local birth house doing anything and everything they let me so I could learn how to deliver babies. teacher of English to wanna-be future English teachers in Germany for 3 years... looking forward to finishing my MA!

Music, Movies, and Books
been too busy to read much lately (booo)--but still love Philip K Dick, Kurt Vonnegut... my next project is to read 100 Years of Solitude in the original Spanish... last read a funky stream of consciousness book in German called Mittelmäßiges Heimweh that just... ended (without an end... which kinda irritates me). Have seen Depeche Mode live twice, Rammstein once... just discovered the Decemberists. Grateful that Morrissey exists, esp. for melencholy moods. I tend to bring up examples from South Park in my classes... Movies? lately been in the mood to watch one, but haven't had time. The last really good one I saw was Inglorious Basterds. Charlton Heston is one of the worst actors of all time. And what's so bad about soylent green being people? ;-)
I've found that this is the box I gravitate towards when reading other people's profiles...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Babies being born.
French food is pretty good too ;-).
Babies have to wriggle around their moms' different pelvic bones in order to get born... how do they know how to do that?
Teach, Learn, Share
I can talk your ear off about grammar (and even punctuation!) and be genuinely excited about it! :-). I can probably teach you to knit, too, but only if you _really_ like yarn. I know some goofy jokes, too.
I'm learning how to play the guitar, so if you're worse than I am, I could teach you "twinkle twinkle little star." ;-). Otherwise put me in the "learn" category :-).
Countries I’ve Visited
Austria, Canada, China, Croatia, France, Italy, Slovenia
Countries I’ve Lived In
Germany, United States, Uruguay
