À propos de moi
CURRENT MISSION
Improving my Norwegian. Exploring (Scandinavian) culture and landscapes!
ABOUT ME
My current home town:
I left my beautiful home towns Meissen and Dresden many years ago to study in Freiburg to become a teacher. It turned out to be one of the best decisions of my life - if not the most important one! Here it's just so easy to get in touch with people with different nationalities, cultural background and even from various parts of Germany and each conversation, acquaintance and friendship has something for me and the other person in store. Living and studying in Freiburg, my Erasmus term in Italy, the year in England as an Au Pair, times spent in Norway and travelling in Europe (and hopefully other continents in the future, too): there are experiences to share and make everywhere!!!!!
My languages:
I've lived in England for a year and in Italy for 7 months (though my Italian is mostly tugged away somewhere in the back of my head atm... Lately also to make space for learning Spanish. ;)
Well, I'm not necessarily exceptionally good at learning languages. =) I simply like them for what they are, sound like, and the possibilities they offer.
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Living in a shared flat without a livingroom and only a small kitchen I cannot offer a couch... I don't have one.
What I can offer you as a CouchSurfer though is meeting up in Freiburg (or Dresden should I be there at that point) and showing you the city and where to go, having a coffee or a drink and things like that. In fact, I'd be happy to do so!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Although I've set up the CS account a while ago I've only done it a few times. Also I took part in CS meetings in Norway in 2011 which was great. Those first surfer experiences really made the difference! I was having a great time in Trondheim anyways but the CSurfing was my "cherry on top"!

Language learning today :
Background info:
1) I studied to be a teacher of and in English (nowadays I'm interested in learning processes outside from school).
2) I'm learning Norwegian at the moment because there's so much that draws me to this language.
My advice:
I'm completely hooked on learning languages "new style"!!! You should, too! =D
The "old style"-learning by the book proved to work poorly on its own so I learned and really love to mix it up with some real life material and experiences - foreign radio stations, books, music, films (with or without subtitles) and so on. I happen to be really excited about the music in Norway anyway so listening to their radio stations is an easy and motivating way. I can only recommend for language learners to combine as many of their interest(-s) with the language they want to learn! There's always a way to do this. Just be creative, talk to people who know you well and find that individual interface of the language and "your" world.
