About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Don't worry, be happy...

ABOUT ME

Back home in NZ after living in Holland for 10 years. Working as a carpenter. Living on the same property as my parents but most of my spare time goes into building my own tiny village here. Always busy with next tiny house. All connected with walkways and decks. Will one day hopefully be a big tropical oasis. I lived Canada in 2008 for 6 months, had an epic time, was also where I had my first couchsurfing experience and it changed my life (it really did, through the awesome people I met).

PHILOSOPHY

Be good to others, it all comes back to you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Two stays in Montreal, both really great experiences, one in Toronto, recently Australia. Hosted people in Utrecht and NZ, only had great experiences (freeloaders aren't encouraged to stay, but those that help out are welcome)... viva la couchsurfing

Interests

Dedicated surfer, mountain biker and free-diver, love snowboarding when I get the chance. Always listening to music, love building and joinery/woodworking projects, love a good movie. Enjoy a bit of photography. Can't beat a good party either. Love to cook and enjoy all good food. Wake me for some good Italian espresso!

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a broad taste in movies, action to art-house etc. Music; a big fan of The National, Bon Iver, Fleet Foxes, Neil Young, Nick Drake, D.D. Dumbo, Hot Chip, Aldous Harding, Amen Dunes and so much more. Books; after all the Game of Thrones books I've been getting into George Orwell books, been reading the Dune series too, like a bit of true story adventure/survival, always open to good tips though!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the greatest experiences I had was hitch-hicking all around New Zealand for 2 months, low budget, sleeping in our tent in the forest wherever we could (I was traveling with my Canadian gf at the time, met her when I went couchsurfing for the first time!). Met amazing people, just an awesome trip...

Australia, Belgium, Canada, China, Cook Islands, Fiji, France, Hungary, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Morocco, Portugal, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States
