About Me

CURRENT MISSION

European Adventures!!!

ABOUT ME

Where to start? I live in New Mexico, land of enchantment, been here almost two years. Moved here to be a waitress and write and adventure novel: a transportational revolution meant to change perception of time and space to reduce the US dependancy on petrol. Realizing I need more experience, decided to see what my wacky dreams are telling me, and follow them to ITALY! Three months I will be travelling Italy, researching art and culture.
I attendend Loyola University in New Orleans, reconnected with my family roots (Hi Grandma!) and learned to sail proficitently, working with North Sails. This city is crazy!!! I loved it and then i left it, thankfully by choice before Hurrican Katrina came knocking on the levees.
I travelled Brasil for two months, what a conciousness opening experience!! Figure if I can travel Brasil alone and make it out alive (almost didnt!!) then Italy should be just as welcoming, if not more~
I have lived in Albuquerque for two years now, waitressing and working on a novel. I recently decided to return to university to study art and drawing. Really excited about this heightened obligation for creatitivity!!!!

PHILOSOPHY

Be true to yourself and follow your heart. I admire anyone who lives their passion, of course with respect and understanding for all types of life.
Personally, I follow my dreams. My sleeping dreams, not my daydreams. I listen to the vivid ones and see where they lead me. Now, onto ITaly!!! Now onto ART!!!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My roomate told me about this site and thought it would help me as I begin my own adventure. Locals know the culture and can share things not found in any travel book or magazine.
After experiencing remarkable hospitality during my travels, I am organizing monthly event in ABQ for the local hosts and present guests to meet each other. good people make the world feel smaller.
For those interested, it's the closest weekend to the 15th of the month. Feel free to inquire.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Only surfeed by word of mouth. How awesome is it to have a network to tap into.

Interests

I love riding bicycles, painting, dancing, music of all types, sailing, nonsense, friendly practical jokes:), and meeting interesting people, of course! Social justice is also important to me, as well as letting the rest of the world know that not all US citizens are imbeciles!!

Music, Movies, and Books

I've read some existentialism, and really enjoy these thoughts. If not to kill yourself, then let's live life to the fullest, no?
I listen to a lot of hip hop, electronica, jazz, blues, and classical music. Very openminded when it comes to art and music.
Playing the name game: Albert Camus, Aldous Huxley, RJD2, St. Germain, DJ Yoda, Blockhead, Jurrasic 5, DJ Krush, DJ Shadow, Julian Fane, Alaska in Winter, I is for Ida, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Billie Holiday, Mark Farina, MC Solaar, Miles Davis, Mozart, Portishead, Poncho Sanchez, Squarepusher, Thievery Corporation, Zap Mama.....just the beginning
Movies: Rivers and Tides, Nights of Cabiria, Fellini's 8 1/2, Best of Youth, Everything is Illuminated, Junebug, Reservoir Dogs

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The Gulf of Mexico stirs some wicked storms, and sailboats aren't the safest place to watch from, but can definitely be exciting.
Making my way thru Brazil, collision with taxi, travelling with a broken ankle ALONE and still finding peace....sort of....

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm good at sewing, minor bicycle repairs, sailing, dancing, speak some Spanish, Portugues, and Italian, and of course native English, Ebonics...:)

Countries I’ve Visited

Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
