About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to meet new people and have some fun

ABOUT ME

I live just south of Houston in Rosharon, TX with my wife Courtney and our three daughters Chloë, Thalia, and Ryleigh. Our house is right off of a major highway, 288, that goes directly into the medical center, downtown, etc. There is a light rail stop about 15 minutes from our house, and most destinations in Houston can be reached within 20-30 minutes or less. We have two miniature Australian Shepherds named Dux and Belle, and two ferrets named Rufus and Cornelius. We don't smoke or allow anyone else to in the house. We drink in moderation and don't mind surfers that do. I love art, especially body art (tattoos and piercings) and my wife and I love to swing dance. We love to travel; however, like with everyone else these days money is often tight so we don't get to travel as much as we would like but, when we do, couch surfing has been a huge blessing.

We have a 5 bedroom house with a large living room and a game room. We have a queen-size sleeper sofa in the game room and all 11 seats on our sectional sofa recline, so someone could always sleep on that. We also have 2 air mattresses, some sleeping bags, and a tent, so we have plenty of comfortable places to sleep. We can also make the kids sleep in the same room and open up one of their rooms if privacy is an issue.

PHILOSOPHY

You have to always plan for the worst and hope for the best and just live each day one at a time. Every day that you wake up should be counted as a blessing and lived to its fullest.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We travel around the country a lot and also offer up our couch and/or spare beds.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have CouchSurfed several places around the US while traveling and have met many wonderful people. We have also hosted several people at our home, and at our our old home when we lived in Waco. We have had several great experiences and are looking forward to many more.

Interests

We are pretty easy going, and just kind of go with the flow. We like to read, and we love all forms of art.

Music, Movies, and Books

lots . . . as far as music goes I listen to rap, techno, pop, jazz, pretty much anything with a good beat; I like a lot of different comedies and action movies, but my favorite is probably Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail (I've overwatched 3 DVDs now to the point that they had to be replaced); my favorite books are the Runelords series by David Farland, and the Redwall series by Brian Jacques, but lately I just started reading the Noble Dead series by Barb and JC Hendee.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I helped deliver a baby in the middle of a waterslide when I was in high school working at a water park . . . ya, that's probably the top.

Teach, Learn, Share

We love to learn from our surfers, and hope that they learn from us too. The whole point of this project is to exchange cultures, friendship, and information. So don't be afraid to ask questions, and don't be afraid if we ask you questions.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I grew up in the Houston area, and now we're back! I'm very familiar with Houston and the surrounding areas, and also the state of Texas as a whole. We can give you great ideas on where to go and what to see, as well as how to find discounts on whatever it is you want to do. We can also help, if you need it, with planning your trips to other areas.
