ABOUT ME

I quit my sales job in San Francisco about 8 months ago and have been traveling west ever since. I've sailed around Fiji, camped along the east coast of Australia, combed the beaches in SE Asia, dodged the crazy traffic in Taipei & Hong Kong, swam under the sea with the fish in 7 countries, explored ancient ruins in Egypt & Jordan, stumbled through the souqs of Damascus & Istanbul...well, the list goes on and on. I've recently made my way through the Middle East, doing my best to understand how to be a Western woman in the heart of Islam. I am thankful to be in Europe now...hoping to spend a bit of time in Vienna.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I found out about couchsurfing through friends I met traveling in March 2008. I had the opportunity to surf a few times through the Middle East. As my trip progresses I hope to continue participating and eventually (when I finally return home) I would love to host couchsurfers too.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I loved the fact that couchsurfing allows you to stay in a real neighborhood rather than in the highly commercialized tourist/hotel zones. Staying with locals is the best way to really understand a culture and a country.
