ABOUT ME
I spend a lot of time doing things with words. I like walking by the river and reading. I collect bits of rusty metal.
PHILOSOPHY
don't fuck up any more than is unavoidable
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I joined when I was going to Vietnam and Cambodia in mid 2010. Met up with some nice folk for meals and travel tips. Haven't actually slept on couches or hosted through the site yet.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've known a few couches over the years, of friends and friends of..and have always appreciated the magic of being taken into people's homes and lives, and like hosting them too.
Interests
people, social justice, dogs, books, pictures, nature, making mosaics, cooking (not always well), doing yoga (erratically), the tour de france (for some reason), walking, films, compassion, whether the earth will fry. I do like a drink. Worrying.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm a fan of Milan Kundera. Like Polish journalist Ryszard Kapuscinski's journalism/travel writing, Graham Greene, Bruce Chatwin, essayist/novelist Joan Didion. Alternative country, eg Lucinda Williams, Steve Earle, folky stuff, gypsy music. I really like movies, especially old European ones.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Shot a man in Reno just to watch him die. (that's a joke)
Teach, Learn, Share
Can help with English language learning (have taught it before)or writing/editing projects, or show you how to make mosaics (my friend in Spain taught me this when I stayed with her). Can show you how to make a very dry martini.
Countries I’ve Visited
Cambodia, France, Germany, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Spain, Timor-Leste (East Timor), Viet Nam
