Chi sono

CURRENT MISSION

learn from nature, she does it right

ABOUT ME

I have a BA in Biology/Ecology; I have also spent much of my academic years studying anthropology and environmental science. Things I like: thunderstorms, the smell of rain in the desert, the cold side of the pillow, reading something or hearing something that makes my brain say "wow- that is sooo cool", cool white wine on a warm summer evening, eating chocolate, cuddling, laughing and hearing other people really laugh, hot toddies on cold winter nights, the smell of onions cooking in butter, coffee. I am both a morning person and a night owl which is one of the reasons I love naps. LOVE food (cooking, eating and sharing meals) its one thing that can really bring people together for a good time and it inspires great conversation.

I have spent much of my life traveling and that has contributed to my interest in learning about new places and people. If I am going to do something I am all in; no half-assed experiences for me. There is of course much more, just ask

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that I get what I give and its been lovely so far, basking in good vibes. I live for the present and have no regrets only learning experiences. I have had many good times and a few bad but they are all really just part of the journey.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't really spent much time with couchsurfers or couchsurfing because I have been living with folks that prefer not to have surfers. However, I feel that couchsurfing offers the perfect opportunity for people to meet, have fun and learn about other cultures without too much ceremony. Inviting someone into your home is such a kind thing to do and it immediately removes some barriers that can really impede a truly great human experience.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have surfed once before in Madrid and it was a lovely time. I have hosted some people as friends before officially becoming a couchsurfing member. I hope to see more of both in the future

Interessi

I love food, cooking and eating! I think there is something amazing about sharing food with people, its beautiful. I love music and dancing, creating art, crafting, gardening, carpentry (mostly small stuff so far but plan on building my own straw bale home someday), bird watching, people watching, mushroom hunting, hiking, biking, walking, reading, conversing, swimming-anywhere, traveling (exploring other cultures and environments), coffee, having interesting conversations with wonderful individuals!

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

I stood inside of a glacier in the Swiss Alps, it was beautiful and surreal and tragic. Scientists were in the process of installing a plastic sheet that would hopefully slow the melting process...but a truly amazing sight

Insegna, impara, condividi

I have become really interested in environmental concerns and solutions. I have much to offer in the way of philosophical, environmental, and metaphysical (not too weird just interconnectedness within living systems stuff) discourse. I also love to cook and craft and would be happy to share these skills. I am looking to learn about anything! I really appreciate other peoples knowledge and abilities and hope that learning opportunities continue to present themselves.
