Hello all, my name is Cristal Reagh and I'm currently finishing up my fourth year at UC Santa Barbara. When I'm not studying Ecology and Environmental Studies, you can find me hiking, swimming, running, climbing, or doing anything in my power to be outside enjoying and caring for the earth and all her gifts!

I absolutely love living in the Dolores Huerta Housing Co-operative, along with 14 other inspiring individuals. We all work together to create an intentional community centered around stewardship and environmental justice, participating in bulk purchasing and celebrating a plant-based diet.

Having been born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa (🌈 the rainbow nation 🇿🇦) I love being immersed in a rich and diverse culture. I believe in the resiliency and wisdom of people and that my life is greatly enriched by sharing it with others. I also love the beach and yoga and am trying to live out my dreams of becoming a ballerina (despite my very late start and lack of talent).

This summer I'm embarking on my first ever solo roadtrip and very much want to integrate into the communities I explore.

I love folk and bluegrass music, it never fails to get my feet stomping!
As for books, I loved reading Catch 22, And the Mountains Echoed by Khaled Hosseini, and Pride & Prejudice.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm practicing self-sufficiency, and being empowered by my own agency! Planning and following through with this solo-roadtrip is a huge big happy thing!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am currently working as an outdoor and environmental educator to 3-6th graders at my local Montessori school, and I absolutely love sharing my knowledge and learning so much about the unique viewpoints the future generation has of the problems plaguing our earth.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Being a member of a housing co-operative I very much understand the importance of respecting the space one has been invited into. I am very cognizant and willing to help maintain the integrity of spaces by respecting the guidelines set out by hosts, as well as following the golden rule of "leave it better than you found it". I'm also very happy to engage in conversation concerning my areas of study or interest.
