About Me
CURRENT MISSION
5 years, 7 CONTINIENTS...half way there
ABOUT ME
I was a typical suburban girl who was on the "right" path in life. I went off to university with expectaions of me that I would get a degree, get a real job, get married, buy a house with a white picket fence and live happily ever after.
I meandered through 6 years of university, managed to get one degree but never really finding my path in life. Then I decided to go traveling in hopes that I would "find myself".
I spent a year living in Australia and really did find mysef. My life was meant to be spend traveling, exploring and experiencing everything different than what was expected of me.
Now I am on a quest to live, work or travel all 7 continients of the world. After 3 years, I am half way there. I have lived in North America, Australia, Africa and Europe. And I have never been happier.
Some of my favorite things... being outside...the feeling of sun on my skin...the smell of freshly cut grass...the taste of cold beer...laughing til it hurts...shopping for shoes...anything that smells like coconuts...watching lightning storms...the beach...BBQ chicken...things that are pink...drinking by a fire...embarassing myself for the entertainment of others...sand between my toes...the "glug..glug" noise a big bottle of vodka makes as you pour a stiff drink...flip flops and lip gloss...making snow angels...sleeping til the afternoon...making people smile

PHILOSOPHY
You only have one shot at life. Do it your way and have no regrets. Try everything once. The world is a big place and there is so much to learn and experience.
If I died tomorrow I would consider my life a success.
" Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand - strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming WOO HOO - What Ride!"
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
My quest for travelling the 7 continents on a budget relies on meeting people and experiencing life through their eyes. The couch surfing program is an ideal way to do this. One day I am looking forward to helping others experience this by showing them life through my eyes as a host.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Although this is my first experience with a couch surfing service, many of my travels have led me to living with people I don't know well in all sorts of circumstances. In Australia I moved in to a friends 3 bedroom place, where at any given time there could be 10 or 12 people staying there at the same time. I slept on a futon with 3 other people in the lounge room. The people that actually lived there never hesitated to let anyone come and stay...work collegues, visiting friends and even friends of friends. It was great to never come home to an empty house, or have 6 people cooking dinner together.
Interests
I love traveling and meeting all kinds of people. I enjoy the "real" experience of places, seeing how the locals live and seeing the heart of a place rather than just the shiny tourist areas.
I love nature and everything outdoors; camping, fishing, hiking, biking and anything tropical.
I also enjoy reading, cooking and daydreaming about the next place to travel to.
