I was born and raised in the SF bay area, and now live in Oakland (and loving it!). My favorite activities are going outside for a good hike or trail run, hanging out with friends, dancing, and learning new things. I'm a firm believer in those old adages "the best things in life are free" and "it's the small things that matter". Some of my favorite memories are from just spending quality time with friends, whether it be to cook a meal together or just have an interesting conversation.

Travel tips to SF:
- get a clipper card for public transit; it's reloadable and you can use on all the public transit (bus/bart/muni/etc) in the area except some of the ferry boats
- check out sf.funcheap.com for fun, quirky, and cheap (sometimes free!) events

Although there's plenty to do in SF alone, you should consider going to the east bay for a bit. Oakland is kind of the "Brooklyn of SF". If you go, don't expect to find much touristy stuff. Instead, do things like walk around Lake Merritt, check out the bars and restaurants around 19th street BART--especially fun on First Fridays.
