About Me

I used to define myself as a scientist. At the time I got my PhD, my whole life revolved around mathematics, informatics and mechanics. Then a time came when I understood there is more in life than science. I discovered spirituality, began to meditade regularly and to practice tantra. I am also interested in healthy food, permaculture and energetic efficiency.

Music, Movies, and Books

I guess I like any kind of music, as long as it is not too loud. But I also enjoy just hearing the wind and birds. And sometimes I love to simply listen to the sound of silence.
I must confess I do not read much. For my personal development, the authors which inspired me have been Eckhart Tolle and Alexandra Solnado (Alexandra's books are in portuguese). On the more esoteric side I should mention Robert Monroe and Carlos Castaneda. A special mention goes to "The Shack" by Wm. Paul Young.
I love watching movies, mostly sad ones (I still have to find out why this is so) : "La vita è bella", "In the mood for love", "Les petits mouchoirs", "City of Angels", "Malèna", "Frida", "The lover" ("L'amant", 1992), "Elegy", "Bridges of Madison County". Some of them are quite dark, like "Million dollar baby", "The green mile" or "Breaking the Waves". Also some comedies : "Le diner des cons", "Les visiteurs", "Volpone", "Scent of a woman". But I admit that even these comedies have some sadness in them. On the spiritual side, I recommend "What the #$*! Do We (K)now!?"

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Something amazing that I have done ? Let me think ... I didn't climb any high mountains, I didn't dive the deep ocean (actually, I nearly drowned at 100m from the beach). Not even bungee jumping ...
Getting my Ph.D. was something remarkable, but I wouldn't call it "amazing" ...
I guess the most outstanding aspect of my life is my daily struggle to be a better person, more compassionate and more loving.

Countries I’ve Lived In
