About Me
Hey guys, I'm Cristiana :) I'm from a small town near Toronto, ON., but I'm currently au-pairing in Milan and will be in Europe until June 2018!
I'm a really laid-back person, I frequently make bad jokes and I love a good meme. I am music-obsessed, and I like discovering new artists and sharing good music that I find- I also sing, play guitar, ukulele and a bit of piano! This fall I'll be going to school at the University of Toronto, and i'll be studying Astrophysics, so I'm embracing my free time now as much as possible by travelling and bingeing netflix without guilt. While living in Milan this year, I have made a lot of friends from different places all over the world. It's been so cool to both learn about their home countries and cultures, and to discover and try to make sense of Italy together. Immersing myself in a different way of life for the first time, especially Italy, has been so so refreshing- there's so much to learn/see/eat here that you basically never get sick of it.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Not to get too deep, but I've always seen travel as a necessary part of figuring yourself out, increasing your self-awareness and perspective, and learning how to genuinely connect with people. Glimpsing the world's diversity, with regards to culture, lifestyle, climate, wildlife, etc., really just makes me feel lucky to be alive. I've so far been to Europe twice, this time being the third - my first time was when I was nine years old, visiting family in the south of France. Then in 2015, I participated in a short-term exchange with a high school in the Netherlands, and also visited Belgium and France again. I'm excited to be back in Europe for now, and have plans to visit London in May and Iceland in June. After this year, I hope to shift my travel focus to South America, Asia or Australia, as I have yet to see these parts of the world! I'm super excited to keep travelling, and to hopefully meet some really cool people along the way.
