About Me

We are a traveling couple intent on seeing the world for ourselves. We're both interested in the outdoors and learning about the planet that we inhabit. Our current home is in Yosemite National Park where Carlos is an Interpretive Naturalist and Jamie works at the campgrounds. Our daily lives are pretty active for the most part, we like to hike, climb, play music, and do some overall exploring. On our days off if we're not in the Valley, we take off to the coast or somewhere else we've never been, or just hangout in our tent and be lazy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We will be living in our car while traveling to climbing and scenic destinations. We plan on hitting Red Rocks in Nevada, Indian Creek, Zion, Bryce and Moab among others in Utah, and if weather permits we are hoping to reach the Tetons and Yellowstone Glacier NP, trek up to Banff, Canada and hit various spots in Oregon and Washington on the way back home. The reason we are doing this trip mid-winter is because it's the only time we have. Our positions in the park are mostly seasonal so we wanted a Grand Adventure until we make it back into Yosemite for the new season. It would be great to meet new people and make new friends along the way, as well as have a real bed or floor to sleep on every once in a while. We don't have a camper van so we will just be sleeping on the back of the car for most of the trip. It's all apart of the adventure.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

J: One of the coolest things I've ever done is move to Yosemite Valley to work, with that I've climbed mountains, camped, hiked, free soloed, canyoneered, and traveled to some of the most beautiful places in the world

Teach, Learn, Share

A side mission on our trip is to get one of Carlos' inventions out into the climbing community. We are planning on stopping at climbing gyms and crags along the way.
