I'm a professor at UC Davis, and have just moved here. I like understanding human behavior from evolutionary and economic perspectives. It's my job and hobby. I also enjoy baroque music, various folk music traditions, and go to the local performing arts center regularly. I like bicycling and hiking as means of seeing things, not as means to do exercise. Work is keeping me pretty busy these days.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have always lived in cities and am still getting used to the low-density living in this college town, even though I live in "downtown" Davis. I like meeting new, interesting people, even when I'm not travelling. I find it somewhat inefficient to have an empty room most of the time in my house, though the extra bedroom will be convenient when family and friends visit.
