About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learn different cultures and have fun

ABOUT ME

Curiosity has always been part of me, like the fire that keeps me moving. Since very young, I've enjoyed learning about different stuff and tend to lean towards the unique, unusual people and things. While I'm a complex being, I truly enjoy simple things.

Diversity is a big part of me too perhaps because I’m from a true melting pot and because I get bored with the sameness. I've done quite a bit of different sports and for the past several years yoga has been my passion as it strengthens my body and mind. Different people, ideas, places, sports, events, etc. just make life more interesting, don't you think so?

I’m always doing something new, but just recently realized that I need to make art. It has been part of my life in many different ways, but never have I done it in a more purposely way. I’m excited about what my art classes will unleash.

PHILOSOPHY

I think life itself gives all of us enough challenges, let's respect others and make things simpler. With respect and a bit of compromising the world could be a much better place. Grace plays a big role here.

Still searching for the meaning of life. In the meantime, I play, travel, meet people, eat good food, learn new things, cry, work, and play more.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I was hosted and loved it. I hope to reciprocate.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had a great experience when I traveled with a girlfriend who has a cs account. We went to Portland, Oregon and the Redwoods, California and stayed with great hosts. It was an opportunity for me to check out cs and I loved it. Hence, here I am!

Interests

Life offers so much to all of us that is hard to narrow it down. Here is my attempt: art; architecture; design; nature; food; music; films, especially foreign; travel; people and how we behave the way we do. In the past year or so, I started working with sustainability in addition to my regular responsibilities. It has been a lot of work, but it has been quite rewarding.

Music, Movies, and Books

Foreign movies!!!! I LOVE them. Some of my favorites are "The skin I live in", "Babette's Feast", "El secreto de sue ojos", "O auto da compadecida", "Vertical ray of sun", "Casas de Areia", "Vicky, Cristina, Barcelona", and many more.

I like so many kinds of music that's hard to narrow down or list. Bossa nova, reggae are staples. Billie Holiday has a special place in my heart. Dance music is just too powerful to resist.: ) I listen to indie rock every day. I don't listen to pop music that much and am always behind the curve in that regard.

Art books are the only ones that stay in my home. All the others are shared or given away after read.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Grand Canyon and the Redwood forest in Oregon and California were indeed magnificent places that reminded me how the Earth and humans are connected and interdependent. Sometimes, it's easy to forget and take it for granted.
Cafe con leche y pan in Spain was the simplest pleasure of the gods.

Teach, Learn, Share

I think this part goes well with my philosophy. When you know more than someone, teach. When someone knows more than you, learn. It's that simple. No reason to make life harder. Share the love, the knowledge. They only grow and expand when you share.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Cayman Islands, France, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Mexico, Paraguay, Portugal, Spain, United States, Uruguay
