About Me
Hello big wide world!
I was born in Cape Town, South Africa, but raised in Vancouver on the West Coast of Canada. I love smiling, standing on mountain tops, and molecular biology.
I am an avid tea drinker, dog lover, easy laugher, and enjoy hanging out with the wonderful friends I surrounded myself with. My perfect afternoon involves drinking beer on a sunny terrace with good friends.
From the beautiful forests and mountains of Vancouver I moved to Montreal to pursue Sciences at McGill University. Montreal is a vibrant and culturally rich city. Studying at McGill confirmed my initial suspicions that science and math is awesome. Diving into a world of mystery to discover how things works is my cup of tea! Although I have no idea what I will be up to in 10 years, I hope to incorporate that interest in whatever I may end up pursuing.
Last year I spent six months cycle touring across Europe. We flew to Tunisia, ferried to Sicily, and from there we started cycling. We spent four months cycle throughout Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro, and Greece. After two weeks in Istanbul, we made a last minute decision to spend a two months cycling down the coast of Norway before returning to Canada. Cycle touring is an incredible way to travel and experience the culture of a new country. I am also an active member on WarmShowers (CouchSurfing for cycle tourists!)
