About Me

I'm a universal foreigner. That is, I'm unable to reply when people ask "where are you from?", because I'm from everywhere :)

Sunsets are too pretty to be missed watching TV or shopping at the mall (or, as it happened in a roadtrip in Australia, WAITING IN THE CAR till it's over. I seriously had THIS type of travelmates.)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Connecting with nice, real people from everywhere in a welcoming worldwide community is too good an opportunity to pass.

CS experience: I joined in August 2015, less than a year ago, and immediately hosted 2 really nice French guys who were going to a job interview to be part of an expedition in the Arctic! Then hosted a girl from Barcelona who had never couchsurfed before. The apartment got full with other flatmates, so I needed to stop. And now I've been backpacking since Feb 2016, so I'm "homeless".

I only haven't couchsurfed more often because I've been traveling very spontaneously, so most of the times I don't know when I will arrive at a place (I generally just arrived in the city in the middle of the night and saw which hostel had beds available), and also because apparently in SE Asia most profiles that don't consist of a sleazy bare-chested selfie / zero reviews / last login 2 years ago / "I only accept females and you'll have to share my bed with me" are of organizations who mistake this website for workaway.info and state that you have to volunteer or pay in order to stay in their "community", "project", or "homestay", which is NOT what couchsurfing is about. Couchsurfing is not a free additional platform to advertise your workaway opportunities/vacancies, people!

I'm on couchsurfing to be part of a hospitable community of travelers and international people who would like to exchange cultural experiences, human interactions and to have the possibility of having a local insight of cities/towns, rather than booking a hostel/hotel and having a limited, more touristy experience.

Interests

Travelling, nature (jungle trekking, camping, chilled beaches, mountains, etc), languages, acting/performing, music (really: people who play instruments, write their own songs and go out there to perform, I love that! And I've been taking my Myanmar-bought guitar with me in my travels to keep practicing), books, good beer, good wine, dancing...

Music, Movies, and Books

Sigur Ros, Belle & Sebastian, Bon Iver, JT Pearson, The Lumineers, Flaming Lips, Vanessa Bumagny, Mumford & Sons, The Catcher in the Rye, Jorge Luis Borges, The Picture of Dorian Gray, Tolkien, Pulp Fiction, Star Wars, The Matrix, Metropolis, Neverending Story, more nerdy stuff, and whatnot.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been to the Easter Island, my lifelong dream destination, and to Iceland, another island, at the other end of the globe, just as amazing. I'm currently backpacking in South East Asia and Australia, since Feb 2016.

Teach, Learn, Share

Let's! I can teach languages (actually, I've done it professionally for a while), and I'm always open to learn another language. Whatever skill a patient soul willing to teach has, I'm up for learning :) And if you play and like teaching piano or guitar, even better!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Joy, respect, and good vibes, and whatever knowledge is in my reach.
