About Me

ABOUT ME

My constant passion is travelling and sharing travelling stories. Since I became a mother I can dedicate less time to it.
I am always enthousiastic about meeting new persons with whom exchanging ideas and realize life is wonderful and that in any moment something extraordinary is about to happen.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Real travelling is when you deal with local people. That counts more than reading hundreds of books :)

Interests

I love listening to african music and dance west african. But also a lot interested in world ethnic music and cultures.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Experiences from the past: i did antique art restoration in Belgium for a couple of years. While working with african art pieces I got curious about experiencing real life in Africa. As soon as I got the possibility, I flew to black Africa, in Sierra Leon, where I volunteered in a school library for almost two months.
When back I attended yoga classes and that made me decide to plan a trip to India. I posponed it when I got pregnant. Hopefully at one of the next Kumb Mela Festival I'll succeed in being there.
In order to cure the nostalgy I had for Africa, I did West African dance for some years.
Last year I travelled several times to Morocco with my little children. I enjoyed the welcoming spirit of Morocco and the sense of security and care that moroccan people have for children.
We also travelled to Malawi in 2020, Bali in 2022 and to Cuba and Mexico in 2023 and a lot around Europe.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can help with English and French homework and the practice of one of the languages I speak.
I can organize workshops for children where they can create their own art book in paper or cloth or other recycled materials.
I can help in the house work and gardening.
I have been also working as a receptionist in a holiday house and various hotels in Italy. So I have good skiils in communicating with people and give them advice and tips for travelling in the areas I know.

I have been a free lance translator. It happened many times to help children with their English and French homeworks and this is something I love. The study of languages has always fascinated me. In this period I am studying Arabic which is quiet a challange :-) The first non european language that I learn.
Since I became a mother I discovered I love to create soft books for children. They are also called 'quiet books' made out of felt and they contain many activities that help the child relax and take all the time in playing. I organize laboratories with children and parents where they can create their own felt books.
Recently I created some 'artist books' for children.
I love to do gardening with my children, we have a synergistic vegetable garden behind our house. I look after it together with the kids.
