About Me

Spanish by birth and Chinese by adoption, I just left Beijing, where I have been living for the past seven years, and I'm new to everything in the Old Continent. I'm a very curious person, interested in anything from practicing or watching sports to visiting exhibitions, going to gigs or... basically, learning about anything.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I just moved to London and I'd love to meet new people, explore as much as I can and take part in as many activities as hours in the day are.

Music, Movies, and Books

Wow, that is a broad topic!

Music... very much into Spanish indie grups, such as Lori Meyers, Belize, Beirut and the kind, but I'm always happy to discover new groups.

Movies... depending on the mood. Generally, Woody Allen or Wong Kar Wai never fail, but you would probably catch me watching a stupid rom-com if you caught me on a long flight. What you'd rarely see me watching is science fiction. If that's the case, I'm probably asleep.

Books. For a very long time, I found that nothing could beat Angela's Ashes, but then, other authors fell into my hands, and now I couldn't choose one. I love historical novels by Arturo Pérez-Reverte, Belén Cuadra Mora's translations of Yan Lianke, and essays on general things, such as Bill Bryson's "A short history of nearly everything". Oh! And I almost forgot. I can spend hours browsing through architectural reference books or magazines without a specific purpose.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Packing my house in three days and witnessing my landlord come by at 3am on the last night before I was moving out to have his fish tank installed. Yes, you've read it right. His fish tank! At 3am!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a very happy and optimistic person, both of which are quite contagious.
