Long-time couchsurf lurker but have never actually used the site. Done a lot of traveling, but these days I'm a full-on nomad with no real homebase in the world. Usually when I travel its either hostels or airbnbs, I've always wanted to do couch surfing but anxiety and procrastination usually won the day.

I'm currently in Sao Paulo, heading to Peru for a 2 month house sit. My girlfriend is in São Paulo só I visit often, but her place isn't great for staying over and I promised myself to actually make an effort to socialize and meet interesting folks in this city I've grown to love but gotten to know so little. Going to Lima, Peru in June to house/dog sit for 2 months

I love getting lost in walks in the city, but that's usually the extent of my tourism and I can go weeks with barely socializing with folks. I've gotten a lot better at it lately and hoping to improve even moreso. I'm hungry for tourism and interesting folks everywhere I go.

My last full-time job was as a fullstack software engineer at Wayfair in Boston. Now I have two part-time virtual jobs that are very low-effort, and I'm mostly working on the next steps in my life/career. Probably something involving consulting and investing in small businesses with a touch of software engineering.

I was born and raised in USA but my family's Brazilian and portuguese was actually my first language.

Extremely laid back and with a good sense of humor. I love debating/trading opinions on literally any subject and always love to learn. Super open-minded and love befriending folks, despite also being very introverted. I'm told I'm very Mineiro. I love to compare opinions and realities with folks, but despise screaming matches and arguments intent on changing each other's mind.

I care deeply about humans and am always down to talk about that.

I can be a very awkward and anxious person at first. Once I'm comfortable, I'm everything I described above. It's arguably my biggest challenge being a digital nomad. I go to so many places and end up doing nothing out of social anxiety

Very 420 and pet friendly

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

New experiences, anti anxiety and good ol budgeting

I travel a lot by myself, and I sometimes get stuck in this cycle of just staying inside and not doing anything. Hoping to use couch surf to break the monotomy, force myself out of my comfort zone, and meet cool people! Also helps to spend less on lodgings.

I work virtually so I'll be spending significant time in cafes or coworking spaces (recommendations super welcomed). I've been to SP before but I barely did anything, so tourist recommendations would also be fantastic.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love just about everything, so long as it elicits a response and is interesting. I have so many spotify playlists I'm super proud of and always down to share

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I quit my life in the united states and decided to live nomadically. I don't miss it, honestly.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach some basic coding, enough to figure out your next steps and how to make a website.

I'm a repository of random biology facts

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good stories, great laughs, debates, consulting on just about any problem, house/yard work, tech help, digital consulting, also more than happy to bring anything at all, be it supplies or wine, etc. I'm just a terrible gifter and would do much better with a specific request haha

Countries I’ve Visited

Bahamas, Brazil, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Mexico

Countries I’ve Lived In

Brazil, United States
