About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Note: I am currently not hosting. Sorry.
ABOUT ME
I grew up on a dairy farm near Bremen (Germany), living with my great-grandma, grandparents, parents and brother. Living with so many people under one roof, all with different needs and opinions means you have to be quite flexible. I guess that's what turned me into a pretty tolerant person.
I didn't always appreciate living in the village surrounded by the big nothing and so I have come to leave my home country when I was 16 and spent a year in the US. Ever since then the world has been calling me and whenever I settle down, I get the feeling that I should be leaving again... Having said that, I have actually settled in the Netherlands quite well and have lived here for the last five years...
Who am I and what do I love? I love cats, cow patterns, reading historic novels, learning about new cultures and have wondered how many languages my humanly brain will be able to learn. So far I am speaking three fluently and have half forgotten two others. Perhaps that can change again in future? I enjoy cooking and eating food (possibly with a glass of wine) and exploring different tastes from around the world. I like going for walks and in fact do enjoy nature now. I love hearing people play the piano, guitar.
PHILOSOPHY
When life gives you lemons, make lemonade! :-)
Being happy and feeling fulfilled - work isn't everything but at least gives you financial stability and the chance to pursue other things outside of work...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Travel the world, offer my room, a smile, a cup of coffee, a glass of wine???
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Hosted one but unfortunately got stuck in Mexico in the ash cloud... My flatmate was home and happy to host though. :-)
Interests
I practice yoga regularly and like running, though I currently have to pause from the latter due to knee injury after my last half marathon... I like seeing friends, volunteered at IDFA (documentary festival), meeting people of all sorts and backgrounds, interested in food and health and love baking / cooking.
