Overview
About Me
I am dorky, fairly likely to cook for you, thoughtful, often busy and trying to learn how to not overbook myself, vegan, analytical, and obsessed with my canine companion Jitterbug.
I am not one of the cool kids.
Currently gearing up for a move to Albuquerque, NM in November 2019!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I was a frequent couchsurfer for a couple of years, and was also a frequent hoster shortly thereafter. I stepped away from couchsurfing for awhile - partially because my life got so busy, but also partially because I was getting inundated with surf requests from folks who were only interested in meeting my couch, not me.
I'm back because I miss the unexpected delights that come with hosting couchsurfers, and I welcome an opportunity to forge the flash-friendships that come from hosting a stranger in your home for a few days.
Interests
Oil painting, hiking/backpacking and getting off the grid for a few days, shoving any and every kind of vegan food right on into my face.

Music, Movies, and Books
I let Pandora be my guide on music.
I read mostly non-fiction, in fits and starts.
I'm more of a series-binger than a movie-watcher. The Good Place, Breaking Bad, and 3% are all favorites.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've spent a lot of time working at animal sanctuaries and wildlife rehabilitation centers, as a volunteer, intern and staff member at various points in time. That's granted me some pretty incredible experiences with some pretty incredible animals.
But honestly, none of those experiences compared to having a grizzly roll through my camp site while on a solo backpacking trip in Yellowstone.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a fledgling accordion player and welcome a chance to play with other folks. I can teach you the basics of tying up your boy and/or girlfriend. I'd love a chance to practice my intermediate-level Spanish.
Mostly, I'm just jazzed to meet folks and hear about their lives, while helping them step into mine for a moment.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Food. 100%. If I'm staying with you, I will cook you a solid meal or else take you out to dinner at some point during my visit.
I make a point of searching for hosts who I genuinely think I'll click with, and who I look forward to meeting.
