About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My friend Joel and I are taking on Europe after spending 8 months cycling around America. We are both interested in meeting people from other countries, visiting cultural and historical places, and learning about food and languages of other countries.

ABOUT ME

After many years devoting myself to formal education, I struck out in 2009 to experience the world firsthand. With my best friend I set out to cross the North American continent by bicycle not once, but twice, meeting the diverse people of the USA along the way. With that under our belts we decided to take our travels international with a backpacking/hitch-hiking trip around Europe (particularly Eastern Europe, Germany, Netherlands) in Fall 2010.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is a dance that we do to the music of the world. If you're not moving then you are bumming yourself out.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new to the couchsurfing community. I plan on using couchsurfing to meet new people and to facilitate my travels, and when I return home I look forward to offering my couch to people with similar goals.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have no formal couchsurfing experience, but during my American bicycle tour I was genuinely moved by the generosity and trust that people show to travelers, and I know it is something I want to pay back to others.

Though no professional, I enjoy cooking a great deal and I think I am pretty good at it. I have been working on learning to whittle or carve wood lately, and would love to meet people skilled in this art.
