I want to see as much of the world as possible!

I enjoy rainy days, spontaneous adventures, local art and music events, engaging and sharing vulnerability with others, learning new things, challenging my fears, drinking tea, dancing in any location, and too many other things to name.

I graduated from the University of Florida in the U.S. I studied abroad three years ago in Spain and completed a 3 month backpacking trip to SE Asia in 2016. Last summer, I traveled for two months to Central America before moving to Philadelphia. I hope to live abroad in Japan or Australia next year and hopefully, in the future, in many other places in this chaotic and beautiful world.

I enjoy learning about other cultures and meeting people whose life experiences are completely different from my own. I really enjoy having interesting conversations and being challenged to think in new ways. I love going on adventures! Friends would say that I am open-minded.

Interests

I have many interests with no way to sum them up into this tiny box. I guess I can say that I enjoy learning in all of it's forms. I study psychology and sociology but I also love biology and language and enjoy intellectually stimulating conversations. I care a lot about social issues and social justice. I enjoy traveling, playing the piano, reading, and browsing bookstores and antique stores for hidden treasures. I also like cooking and baking, hiking, and going to the beach.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I like many kinds of music. I love classical and jazz but I also enjoy progressive rock and metal. Basically almost anything except country.

Books: There are far too many to name. Reading is my favorite hobby. I am currently reading through a list of classics and recently finished Catcher in the Rye, Frankenstein, Jane Eyre, and 1984. I'm a huge Tolkien fan and also like some of the works by Jane Austen. I also just finished Between the World and Me and am reading a collection of essays by James Baldwin.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I embarked on a solo backpacking trip for 3 months around SE Asia (and South Korea). I wouldn't say that's amazing, but it was my first trip and is the longest and farthest I have ever traveled by myself.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am currently learning Spanish as a second language and have become quite fluent. I am planning on teaching English as a second language next year. I've tutored many subjects from reading to calculus. Who knows what we could teach or learn from each other. I like to think of everything as a chance for personal growth and learning.
