About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To host wayward travelers, learning from others, and hopefully be a couchsurfer soon, myself

ABOUT ME

Love to travel, but cannot afford to right now. However, I can offer some space for another traveler. I've stayed in Hostels before, and loved the experience of meeting new people from new cultures. People who stay in the heart of the city's neighborhoods can really show a visitor the "real life" of a place, not just the touristic side of it. Chicago is an awesome place to see, especially from the local perspective. I'm a subway performer, working on an album. Love to sing and play music. Also, I do dreadlocks on the side at a local salon, so perhaps a visitor wants a new hairstyle!! Also, I'm a waitress at a local organic-freetrade restaurant. Lots of knowledge of the city to offer, and always up to meet people from different cultures. We can always learn something new from one another.

PHILOSOPHY

We're all here for the same reason.. to help one another through tolerance, education, love, and friendship.

music is a good way to channel this.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to be a traveler and stay with others, but I don't have the money for that right now. But I've got some space to lend to other travelers, so I can still take part in this!! Isn't that what it's all about?

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've stayed in Hostels, and on random couches in Ankara and Istanbul, Turkey... It was a great experience. It wasn't through this program, but it was the same kind of idea. I think this is a spectacular idea. It's all about cultural exchange, sharing stories, and saving a little bit of money!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I traveled to Huatulco, Mexico, in oxaca Mesico. I learned to surf on the southern coast of Mexico. I went to Birmingham, UK to perform, and spent the rest of the time making life long friends at the Scruffy Duffy's pub. I went to Memphis, Tennessee and put a rose on Elvis's Grave, I went to Los Angeles, California and shook Ron Jeremy's hand.. then immediately washed it.. I spent a month in Turkey.. First in Ankara, slept on a pull out couch and had a warm reception from my friends, then took a 10 hour train ride to Istanbul, where I stayed at some amazing hostels, and was able to visit some of the most beautiful mosques on earth, made life long friends, and performed on Istikal St... Oh, how I miss that place. I've been skydiving, air boating, and canoing, love camping and the outdoors, and I once lived in my 1972 Volkswagen Camper Bus. And so, so much more.

Teach, Learn, Share

I speak a little turkish, and play guitar!! If you stay with me, you may just learn a little bit about music.
