Overview
About Me
36 year old high school science teacher. I'm friendly, love to laugh, love meeting new people, love long random conversations over coffee, tea, wine or beer. I teach biology and environmental science. Spent 3 years abroad teaching at an international school in Rome and miss the cultural exchange and the travel. I loave my beeeeaaaauuutiful city and also getting out of it to explore rivers and trails. I have a friendly lab mix dog Cash who likes to tag along.
PHILOSOPHY
"I am a part of all that I have met, yet each experience is an arch where through gleams that untravelled world whose margins fade for ever and for ever as we move". Tennyson
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It all started at the Fiat party in Torino at the unveiling of the new Fiat 500. Two lovely Piemontese girls saved me from an awkward interaction with some amorous Italian men. They introduced me to the group invited me out to dinner and also over for amazing lasagna and regional treats. My first real experience making Italian friends! Now whenever I travel I love to meet local people through CS. Also looking forward to sharing my love of Oregon with others.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Random dinners with passers-through in Roma, Brat frys on the river in Bern, Christmas Eve party in Madrid, Drinks in Catania, dancing in Istanbul, aperitivi in Roma, boating in Victoria... the list goes on! When I moved back to Portland, the local couchsurfing community helped me make friends and find community locally.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Sitting in a wood fired hot tub in the Swiss Alps, all-night hotspring run to Virterbo, camping trip to Mont Blanc, skydiving in Molalla, peering into the sulfery active crater at Mt. Etna, dancing to Tarantella music with the locals in Cinque Terre and enjoying a ocean dip at 3am, meeting and talking to travelers.
