CURRENT MISSION
embrace whimsy to manifest beautiful things
ABOUT ME
Im from the US originally. I woke up one day and realized that we had ended up living a life that did not feel very authentically us, and knew that my kids deserved much better than what we had created up until that point.
So, we bought one way tickets to Argentina and decided to create a lifestyle that would open their hearts and their minds, make them excited about learning, and help them (and us!) to become flexible, adaptable, tolerant human beings.
I have three amazing kids, so you definitely need to be a kid person if you stay with us. I know I am biased, but they aren't your normal kids..they are way cooler than most! They are inquisitive, opinionated, open-minded, strong-willed, allowed a lot of freedom, and will be truly interested in you and your travels, so consider yourself warned.
My main goal is to meet people from all over the world and to expose my kids to all different types of people, in the hopes that they grow up to be more tolerant and globally minded. Plus, I'm always up for meeting people who will help me to see things from a different perspective.
PHILOSOPHY
Don't sit around and wait for things to happen. Go out and create a life worth living. No one's gonna do it for you.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
My first couchsurfer put it well...´I come then go, then you come and go, and then we meet over there to build on what we created...´
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Our third day in Argentina, my 4 year old got kicked by a horse, needed surgery, and was then in casts from the waist down for 2 months and wasnt supposed to be moved at all.
*#@%*!!!! Welcome to Argentina....
Long story short, we were all invited to live with people we had just met that day, and they showed us unconditional hospitality that I had never seen in the US. They are now some of our best friends, like family to us. I cant imagine life before knowing them!
Interests
Futbol, hiking, art (especially made by my own kids), skiing, vegetarian cooking, organic gardening, mountain climbing, hitchhiking, vinyl records, Eames design, Poloroid pictures, lounging on hammocks, natural construction, malbec wine with dark chocolate mmmmmm, indiginous ways of life, old school Nintendo NES (I can kick your ass at Contra), super 8 cameras, tree houses, renewable energy, Anusara yoga.
Totally awkward situations you can laugh about later.
I love bonfires with people who can play guitar on nights full of stars. Cliche, I know..
I want to learn to surf even though I'm not a good swimmer and Im klutzy as hell. But I'm kinda obsessed with it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I summited Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. Standing on top of the world at sunrise knowing that I used every ounce of my energy and gave myself completely to something was something I wont forget. I felt very alive at that moment.
It was also cool because I through the climb my kid's school was able to raise $22,000 in three weeks to go to a children's charity. Awww....
Teach, Learn, Share
I taught Anusara Yoga for seven years in the states. I'm good at making bread.
Stella practices circus arts and can teach you acrobatics.
And my daughter Ava can teach you anything you want to know about horse riding.
Things I want to learn - how to breakdance, how to surf, and how to whistle really really loudly with two fingers.
