About Me

CURRENT MISSION

New York

ABOUT ME

I am a smiley, kind and reliable person, who likes to explore things, get to know new places and new people.

PHILOSOPHY

I want to enjoy life, and be a good person at the same time.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

When I travelled to China I stayed at a couchsurfer's place, and a few years ago I hosted a couple of people in Budapest. The last few years I attended a lot of couchsurfing events in London, and more recently, in New York.

Interests

My primary hobby is music, more precisely singing. I've been singing in different choirs since being a child, and for a couple of years I also took private singing lessons. I've been a member of traditional choirs, but also of a modern jazz choir, and I used to sing in an experimental choir with which we had original, unusual performances, occasionally involving some acting. During my time in London I was a member of the London Bulgarian Choir, and in New York I am currently a member of a male barbershop chorus called Voices of Gotham.

I also love languages. A can speak Hungarian (obviously), English, German, and I know a bit of Spanish. Chinese and Russian are next on the list, as soon as I have some more time (when I'm 60...).

I also like to read, meet friends, and travel. Oh, and to hike, I love hiking!

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy reading various kinds of books, for example adventure books and classics.
I also listen to various kinds of music. For example Sting, U2, Dire Straits, Jamie Cullum, José Gonzalez, Sufjan Stevens, Alanis Morissette, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It's amazing to return to the website to update my profile and find stuff I am surprised I wrote myself. I kind of like it, though, cheesy as it is, so I'm keeping it for now:

I love tiny things, like moss on a forest floor, or to watch ants go about their daily business. And I love large-scale things, like the vista from the top of a snow-covered mountain, or the vibration you feel when you are standing at the foot of a waterfall.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Belize, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Mexico, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, Peru, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States, Vatican City State

Countries I’ve Lived In
