About Me
Hi! Anyeong-haseyo! 안녕하세요! Sa-wa-dee-ka!
I'm a freelance writer and editor who's currently spending a year sampling bibimbap, kimchi, and soju in Daejeon, South Korea. Since I studied abroad in London in 2011, I've made travel a priority in my life. In 2014, I lived in Bangkok, Thailand for 6 months, travelled around Southeast Asia, and started my own location-independent writing and editing business. Now, I'm learning about the history, culture, and food of the small, but feisty peninsula of the north: Korea.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing is a global community of people who want to share experiences and the places they love with others from around the world. I find that people who love travel tend to already have a lot in common. Plus, locals always know better than TripAdvisor where to go and where to skip if you're on a limited schedule.
Interests
Reading and working in cafes (especially cat or animal cafes, though cats make it difficult to get anything productive done), exploring cities by foot, hiking new mountains, spontaneous dance parties, good music, chocolate or wine--preferably both, and interesting conversation.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: The Beatles are my all-time favorite, but I really love most genres of music. Recently, I've been into Chvrches, the National, Sia, Above &Beyond, San Fermin, Madeon, the Decemberists, and Bleachers, but I love almost everything and anything from the '50s to today along with anything electronic/danceable.
Books: Such a difficult question for me! Some of my current favorites are the writings of Rebecca Solnit and Donna Tartt, but my past loves include Harry Potter, Ian McEwan, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Jane Austen, The Bell Jar, and Jeffrey Eugenides.
Movies: I'm a bigger fan of TV series than movies, but I do love a movie that really makes you think or travel movies
