About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Organic farming community growing sustainable relationships.

ABOUT ME

Greetings from our organic farming community, located forty five minutes north of Albany in the fertile Battenkill Valley. Our family warmly invites you to experience our unique life of friends and togetherness. We are situated on over one hundred acres of gently rolling hills and lush river bottom land. Growing a wide assortment of vegetables and medicinal herbs for a farm stand and our own community use, heritage breed poultry, milking a small herd of dairy goats, raising sheep and donkeys, maintaining the beautiful grounds of the estate, and operating a cottage industry keep us busy and open for new friends year round. In addition to the normal farm crew and volunteers, we also have a great time doing the "community night" in the field, with everyone coming out for one evening a week to join in the work and reward of getting our hands in the soil.
Living arrangements will be according to space and needs. Diets w/special needs can be accommodated within reason. Guests are frequent all year round and we would love to have you join us. Whether a short stay or a life long experience, our hearts and our farm will always have room for more.

PHILOSOPHY

By saying we are a "community", we do not mean a loose association of individuals in a common geographical location, but rather a large extended family of married couples, single people, and children sharing a common social, spiritual, and economical goal. That goal is to create a life of care and growth for the common good. We live a life dedicated to sustainable practices, primarily of our relationships with one another. We also teach about our spiritual way of life based on the original teachings of Yahshua the Messiah. To make this a daily reality, we eat all our meals together, gather morning and evening, with weekend celebrations, sing, dance, and offer a community prayer to the One who makes this life possible. We ask that volunteers would attend all gatherings and meals with a desire to respect and learn from our way of life together.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We love working together to make this life increase and we ask that volunteers would share the same passion for hard work.
Volunteer work is based on areas of interest, abilities, our needs and availability.
We have both our farm and our soap shop where you will have opportunity to work. Our kitchen is always bustling with lots of room for helpers. There could also be opportunities in carpentry.
We always have lots going on, so you will never be bored!
Activities may vary depending on the time of year.
Please note: Every one of us, whether guests or residents, are volunteers. There is no financial compensation offered for any work done. We agree to provide you with three meals a day and housing, in exchange for your volunteer work. No drugs or alcohol use please.
