ABOUT ME

I like to spend time outside doing anything active. I've lived and worked in Michigan, Alaska and Utah leading cool outdoor trips for youth over the past several years. Not sure what the future holds, but trying to hold true to the things that really matter here and now.

PHILOSOPHY

Trying to learn how to get comfortable with being uncomfortable and embrace the tough parts of life as that is where there is most learning.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm looking for people to meet and stay with in new places. I host when I can, but I tend to move around a lot.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

When I lived in Utah I lived out of my truck for 9 months and mostly stayed with friends on their couches. In Alaska I lived really far away from town and often stayed with friends in the city. I have found that when I stay with friends like this I always expand my friend circle and learn new things. I always feel so grateful for the people who have taken care of me and I think it helps me appreciate the little things more.

Interests

I love being outside and going camping. Backpacking is my favorite but I also like kayaking, canoeing, rock climbing and running. I like photography, reading, listening to music, cooking and eating awesome food.

Music, Movies, and Books

This question is like suggesting you watch a movie, and then you have no idea what movie to watch and end up spending an hour trying to decide.

I got into Richard Bach books last year and really like him...

I listen to almost anything from Phish to Lady Gaga :)

I so rarely watch movies....ask me sometime and I'll let you know.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I saw Orca whales breaching out of the water 20 feet offshore from where I was cooking dinner on a kayak trip in SE AK.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a lot about camping and living outdoors. I can make a bowdrill fire and I've lived in the desert under only a tarp for days on end. That's gotta be worth something! :)
