About Me

(2013) Well, yeah. This is the worst part in making a profile. Perhaps what can be important here is that I'm mostly regarded as a great guest, since I don't make much of a mess and don't touch stuff that isn't mine. My friends take me as someone who lives by certain principles, and that's something I'm also proud of. Despite my friendly nature I like keeping that little distance, and I can find the lack of personal space disturbing at times.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

(2013) Because I don’t want to just see five-star hotel rooms in various points of the world. I’m interested in how people live in all the other countries, in seeing the world through their views, listening to their stories, experiences. I would like to hear about their religion as well, and the ways they honor their faith. This is the easiest way to experience these kinds of things in my opinion.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

It depends on the company.

Music, Movies, and Books

(2014) I really like to read tales and legends from my own or from different cultures, but I also like different works as well, like reading the war novels of Sven Hassel. I especially liked Slaughterhouse-five by Kurt Vonnegut, which was given to me by my beloved as a present. I occasionally read books that were absent from my childhood, that’s how I came across Astrid Lindgren in the form of Emil of Lönneberga, and The Hobbit by Tolkien.

In movies, just like in books, I have a very broad taste. I really like movies of Christopher Nolan, and a few (mostly earlier) ones of Ridley Scott. Other favorites of mine are The Count of Monte Christo from 1974, The Green Mile, The Shawnshank Redemption or the Man in Fire. Also, I’ve been a huge fan of Braveheart ever since kindergarten.

I am a fan of cartoons like The Secret of Kells, or Samurai Champloo.

In music I prefer the kind played with instruments. I like listening to movie or game soundtracks by Jeremy Shore and Hans Zimmer, and sometimes to some old rock or jazz.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

.. I can move my pinky toe separately from the others.

(2014) One day a faithful Muslim told me: „Jihad is an inner, spiritual struggle against the non-believer within yourself.” The otherwise well-known sentence coming from his mouth gave a deeper understanding, speaking of tolerance. I’m grateful to him ever since.

(2016) I was in Iran.

Teach, Learn, Share

(2013) I don't know what I could teach you, I am eager to learn anything that's useful, and I won't share anything but my company. And perhaps some food.. ;)
