About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to stay sober for at least a month

ABOUT ME

I live in a wee ex-council house on the outskirts of the toon, it's a cosy wee house with a garden and an open fire. I am pretty chilled out and like to meet travellers. I've got a friendly Mauritian husband who speaks fluent French so it's handy for any French visitors. Both of us have done some travelling previously so we will find lots in common.

PHILOSOPHY

open minds lead to many happy times

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am just starting out so not much yet.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I went to Shetland and stayed at Lee James's house. She was very kind to me and let me stay for five nights. We have kept in touch and built a friendship.
I've had a couple of girls stay here who were Swiss and they were very nice people.

Interests

red cross volunteering, hospital radio, guitar, travel, drinking and partying. ha ha ha

Music, Movies, and Books

och you know, I'm quite busy so I don't tend to have much time for the telly or movies. I like Sublime and the Chillis, James Brown, Billy Idol, any Mauritian music and old funk. I read anything if I get the time! At the moment I'm reading Life of Pi. I like the film Babel and The Piano.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

there is this wee island off the coast of Mauritius called Ile Aux Cerfs (probably spelt wrong) which is just the most beautiful place I have ever been to. It almost made me cry it was so incredible.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can perhaps teach someone how to put on a bandage. It might come in handy when on the road.
I'd like to learn more about some places in the world that are cool but I've not been to yet. So tell me!!!
