About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Finding out who and what makes societies work against the odds of economic growth at all costs
ABOUT ME
I enjoy the mix of very local and global life around Berlin but I'm upset with rising inequality, pollution and noisy cars, corruption and dirty money, the european lawyers and bankers who support it, with the fixation on GDP, with unemployement and work-addiction, and finally with the desocialisation and economisation of most interactions. I've been looking for solutions for a year in India, for half a year in Japan, for three years in Bayreuth (Germany), in the mountains, in trains, in the European Parliament, with the GTZ in Zambia and as a consultant investigating economic crimes in Germany and still don't feel like I know how to make society stick together against all the odds...

Each year about 1.5 trillion dollars of dirty money is transferred around the world, most of it through the 63 odd tax havens - among that are 50 billion from corruption (only), 500 billion from criminal activities, 1000 billion from tax evasion and similar commercial activities. From these 1.5 trillion about half is stolen from developing countries and taken to the US, Europe, etc. and only about 0.01% of these transfers are discovered and stopped. All this ends up in anonimity outside democratic control, buys governments to create its own rules, and makes it impossible to apply rules or make sense of transactions right next to you
