About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To understand what makes people rebel

ABOUT ME

Hi all!

My name is Danny, and I'm a passionate traveler, researcher and fan of stories, snowy mountains and cultures from all around the globe (particularly Asia). I'm here on CS to meet interesting people during my travels, to fascinate and to be fascinated.

PHILOSOPHY

"There is one thing which is even bigger than your country, and that is - what's inside of your head. Never forget it, or you'll end up destroying everything you cherish and love."

Natsume Soseki, "Sanshiro"

Interests

Oh, that's a long list. I love hanging around with good frineds for good food and interesting conversations, listening to unusual music, and of course- traveling around. I am fascinated by world religions, custumes, languages, cultural encounters and adventures. Furthermore, I enjoy diving and hiking in beautiful surroundings.

I passionately love my job, which is historical research, as well as ancient myths, legends and literature of all kinds.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love reading - and I do not rule out any genre. However, I am a very big fan of myths and legends of all kind, and of J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Lord of the Rings". Besides Tolkien, my favorite author is Michail Bulgakov, especially his book "Master and Margarita" which I can never stop reading. I like romantic French and satirical Japanese literature, too.

Movies? It goes without saying. Everything which is good. The best movie that I've seen was, perhaps, the Spanish movie "the dungeon".

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Volunteering in a summer camp for poor children, back home in Israel...

Soaking in a Japanese hot spring on a the shore of the blue, endless pacific ocean...

Unearthing a historical document or an interesting story that no one had heard about before.

And helping a sad friend to smile...

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd love to help people with languages, from Hebrew, English and German to Japanese. I'd love to share knowledge about world history, Middle Eastern politics and of course - books that I like.

Any sharing of course is mutual - and I'll always love to learn about new languages, cultures and religions, good books, music and movies, and everything else you can help me studying.
