Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to see the world through my own eyes
ABOUT ME
i'm an extrovert who can never have enough friends. meeting people, going to new places, i'm all about it. growing up in the northeastern US, i would snowboard in the winters and go to outdoor music festivals in the summers and take roadtrips as much as possible. ever since i could afford my own plane ticket when i was 16, i want to keep traveling. after backpacking for quite some time now, it's become difficult to sit still for more than a few months- and i'm definitely OK with that.
PHILOSOPHY
just say yes and go
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
hosting whenever i can, attending CS events when they pique my interest, and being an ideal surfer- the point of this CS project is not a free place to stay, it's to embrace a community who shares the common thread of traveling.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
after my first time surfing (which was incredible), i got back home and CS had reached over a million members. and for nyc to celebrate, we had a picnic on the 7 train. i met some really great people, shared stories, it was a lovely time. and it was on a subway car (how cool is that??).
Interests
big cities, small towns, maps, new people and places, languages, adventures, the outdoors, live music, festivals, camping, the unknown... so many interests.
bartender by trade, so i love learning about wine and cocktails.

Music, Movies, and Books
movie favorites- y tu mama tambien, breaking the waves, dancer in the dark, motorcycle diaries, a bronx tale, snatch, slumdog millionaire, donnie darko, many more.. i'm a sucker for deep, depressing films. sometimes the best way to start your day is to watch a sad, depressing film. then when things seem bad, just think- you already saw worse today :)
musical favorites- sigur ros, bon iver, the knife, fever ray, radiohead, kyte, the album leaf, lykke li, emiliana torrini, much more..
books- the geography of bliss, conquering the impossible, down and out in paris and london, anything by david sedaris, malcolm gladwell, i like a lot of philosophical books..
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
i climbed mt. marcy in the adirondack mountains once. seeing the view from the top was something i can never forget.
i climbed an active volcano in nicaragua, which was spectacular.
i went white water rafting in the himalayan mountains- stellar.
Teach, Learn, Share
i'm a lover of languages. even if it's only learning a few phrases, i'll never learn enough. i'd love to get more involved with the CS language exchange. cooking- always room to learn, and always willing to teach. if world leaders were to cook meals together, war would be obsolete.
