Wow, I haven't used my couchsurfing profile in ten years! I couchsurfed a lot when I travelled Australia in 2010/2011. Staying and spending time with locals this way definitely made my trip back then!

Now I reactivated my account because I want to enrich my travels again by meeting locals. I am exploring New Zealand with my bicycle right now. After having lived and worked on New Zealand's beautiful South Island for one year a long time ago, I am very excited to be back!

My bike-packing trip is sort of a "finale" for me. In summer 2021, I quit my job back home in Germany. Since then, I travelled various countries in various ways, determined to learn more about myself and about different ways of life. It's been an intense time and I am very grateful to be able to spend some time in New Zealand before returning to a "regular" life and work routine.

I am bike-packing with a tent so that I can camp out and be close to nature. Even though this is a fun way to explore New Zealand, I am looking forward to the convenience of a proper bed every now and then and/ or to the chance of a nice conversation with locals. For me, couchsurfing isn't a way of trying to score free accommodation but an attempt to connect with interesting people and to learn about their way of life and living.

I am 37 years old, I don't smoke, I am vegetarian and I am looking forward to meeting you!
