I am curious and open minded, ready for exploration and adventure. I love literature, art, science, and nature. I want to suck the marrow out of life, not sit on the sidelines! I enjoy great conversation; sharing a laugh with good people; great food, wine, and beer, and cannot fully enjoy life without music and chocolate.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have yet to surf, but would like to both surf and host when possible! I have hosted a traveler from Germany who originally surfed at my brother's place. I would love to host once I have a place for travelers to rest their weary heads.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A lovely girl from Munich surfed with my brother and ended up spending a good portion traveling through California with our family, including myself. Her plans had fallen through, so we networked with our contacts so that her traveling would be ideal. Had a fantastic time and we are all still in touch! My sister and I also showed another couchsurfer around San Diego and shared a lovely dinner with his friends (that he met when he hosted them!)

Interests

I am interested in learning about the world and all of its natural and cultural beauties. I love improving upon or picking up new skills, such as yoga, dance, glasswork, and other crafts. I would love to start writing again regularly, I once wrote poetry quiet often, and intend on keeping a journal any time I travel abroad. Being in nature brings me much contentment, and any excuse to reconnect with the nature world works for me! I also am a huge fan of live music, it is passion in performance and sound, and great fun.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies I love: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Amelie, Wristcutter's: A Love Story, Pulp Fiction, Snatch, Waking Ned Divine, Moonrise Kingdom;

Music: Besides local bands I am familiar with in my hometown, I love Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Tom Petty, The XX, Metric, Van Morrison, Air, and all kinds of rock and metal bands. I really enjoy thrash and sludge metal, like Megadeth, Pantera, Iron Maiden, Albino Rhino ( a Norwegian band), Electric Wizard, and more.

I own way too many books, and adore them like old friends. As a child, I found Sophie's World to be mind expanding, but I love reading novels, poetry, biographies, history, and more. I enjoy Barbara Kingsolver, Edgar Allen Poe, Tom Robbins, Augusten Borroughs, Lauren Hildegard, and many more wonderful writers!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have rappeled off of a 100ft waterfall in Kauai with gear that my friend has from working as a tree cutter. It was so much fun we went over the waterfall five times in the ten days we were there.

Teach, Learn, Share

I will happily teach you yoga! I have dabbled in a myriad of different hobbies and interests, and would love to share with you anything I have learned, and am receptive to learning from you, too.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to cook for people, I teach yoga, and give awesome massages. I enjoy hearing about people's lives, and sharing a laugh. I have no drawing skills, but can write decently well :). I can share my tastes in music with you, and broaden your musical repertoire. I love taking photos of whatever catches my eye, and chances are I will have many to share for any who are curious.
