About Me

I am Caner from Turkey, currently living and working in Istanbul. Since 2022, I’ve been spending most of my time in Antalya, though I occasionally travel back to Istanbul.

At the moment, I’m based in the south of Turkey, in Antalya, working remotely for a tech company in Istanbul—a shift that started during COVID. My profile might seem a bit outdated, but I’ve been too lazy to update it until now!

I’m an easygoing, friendly, and open-minded person.

I enjoy outdoor activities like camping and cycling, and I try to attend art events and film screenings regularly. I love filling my day with diverse activities, often doing multiple different things in a single day.

I’m passionate about learning about new cultures, homes, cities, traditions, and the adventures of my friends.

Update: I now share my life with a dog named Laika and a cat named Keiko. I’m in the process of redesigning my lifestyle to accommodate and enjoy this new chapter.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people. It is good to meet people from different culture and is a good way to improve knowledge. It provides to see new habbits, hobbies, life stories, opinions and more.

I try to help to the visitors as much as possible. I cant be a full time guide, because of limitations of lifes but I try to do the best :)

I am vegan. And animal rights activist. I seek a world free from violence and the threat of violence.

Every life matters.

When i visit somewhere, I like to meet local people who can show me the local life. Visiting touristic places is good but i want to know more, want to belong to that city so i need to know basics of the city. So, couchsurfing helps me about it. I met here lots of people and they showed me the city while telling information and tricks.

It makes me feel good to walk for hours without knowing where it goes, to use transportation with people who go to work, to listen local music in a vegan cafe while eating traditional food, to join a yoga session at a park.

In the evenings, I can also visit bars clubs pubs. For example I can not forget Basiani club in tbilisi, it was really nice.

I like to know about the vegan places in city as well. Meeting vegan activists would be great also.

Interests

I love meeting new people! Connecting with people from different cultures is not only enjoyable but also a great way to expand my knowledge. It helps me discover new habits, hobbies, life stories, opinions, and so much more.

I always try to assist visitors as much as I can. While I can't be a full-time guide due to life's limitations, I do my best to help and share what I know.

I’m vegan and an animal rights activist. I dream of a world free from violence and the threat of violence. Every life matters.

When I travel, I enjoy meeting locals who can show me the authentic side of their city. While visiting tourist spots is fun, I love diving deeper to truly belong to a city. Couchsurfing has been a great platform for this, allowing me to meet amazing people who’ve shared insider knowledge, tricks, and experiences.

I find joy in walking for hours without a plan, taking public transportation alongside locals, listening to regional music in a vegan café while enjoying traditional food, and joining a yoga session in a park.

In the evenings, I’m open to exploring bars, clubs, or pubs. One unforgettable experience was at **Basiani Club** in Tbilisi—it was incredible!

I also enjoy discovering vegan places in cities and would love to connect with fellow vegan activists.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Going vegan and getting my passport and adopting animal friends

Teach, Learn, Share

I can’t always show people around Istanbul because of my busy work schedule, but I’m happy to provide information about what to do and where to go. I try to help as much as I can—after all, I hope to receive the same kindness when I travel abroad!

I can teach you some basics of my language, share delicious vegan food, and maybe even a bit of programming.

I’m passionate about learning from new cultures and meeting people from all over the world. The more we learn about others, the more we admire and respect their diversity.

I truly enjoy building connections with people from different corners of the globe. 🌍😊

What I Can Share with Hosts

Whenever I have time, I enjoy sharing stories and experiences.

I’m happy to share my knowledge of the Turkish language and culture.

I’m also a great walking, running, or cycling buddy! I can make your morning run or outdoor adventure a bit less lonely. We can explore attractive places together while walking, running, or cycling.

One important note: please do not offer me any non-vegan items. I’m an ethical vegan and do not consume or use anything that isn’t vegan.
