About Me

Howdy! I am going to write some things but I will be leaving this essay momentarily under construction.

About me...it's always a bit peculiar writing about oneself, but I'll give it my best shot! If I were forced to summate myself in one word, it would undoubtedly be motivated. I thoroughly enjoy trying new things and pushing boundaries, both in the figurative and literal sense. Literally, I like crossing boundaries to new countries, but figuratively I like pushing myself to experience different cultures, meet new people, and try new things.

If I am not studying, I am reading, listening to podcasts about science or politics, camping, or speaking French.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My philosophy on traveling is this: it is the people that make the experience memorable, regardless of whether they are the ones you travel with or meet along the way.

I decided to start taking Couchsurfing seriously after my fantastic experience in Bratislava and Vienna. My friend contacted the hosts in both places. I was a little reserved because it was my first time, but we had a fabulous time. We were fortunate to stay with two wonderful hosts!

I hope to emmulate their kindness and hospitality as a host and do my best to bring whatever I can to a potential host. Ultimately I hope to broaden my horizons and establish connections and memories with new people. Hope that isn't too sappy and idealistic for you!

Music, Movies, and Books

I like almost every type of music, but I would honestly say I don't listen to an exorbitant amount of Pop, Country Pop, Techno, or Electronic. However, I am quite flexible.

Books, I quite liked "Into thin Air". But I am a huge fan of the classics.

Movies, throw me an "Amelie Poulain" and I am set.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Biked 1,000 miles (1,600km) through eight European countries with a friend. Camped every night in fields, camp sites, and one time, in a park. Whoops!

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, Poland, Scotland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

England, France, United States
