About Me

I like good conversation. I also think most people are far more interesting than they realize they are.

I'm friendly, easy going and up for anything so whether you want to do something crazy or if you want to chill out and do nothing I'm happy.

My philosophy can be explained in two key statements:

1) There is only this moment, so you better enjoy it.
2) Most people are nice (so be nice to them first!)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Sometimes as travelers we only see the side of a place that the tourist board want us to see. Couchsurfing's a good way to see the other side of a place with cool people.

MY TRIP

I'm about to take a long trip from Copenhagen all the way to Cambodia. To make it a little bit more interesting/difficult for myself I'm not going to travel anywhere by flight.

To begin with I'll be hitch-hiking through Denmark, Germany, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Russia as I make my way across land to Moscow where I will take the Trans-Mongolian Railway to China. Then, if I'm still standing, I'll visit as many places in South East Asia as I can before reaching Cambodia where I'll complete my mission :)

Obviously an ambitious trip like this is very expensive (which is why I'll be relying a lot on hitch-hiking for travel) so if you can host me that would be incredibly helpful and I would love for you to be a part of my trip! If you can't host me then maybe we can meet for coffee and you can show me some of the cool parts of your town :)

Interests

I'm mainly interested in meeting and talking to interesting people (that includes you). I like playing guitar, having interesting conversations, appreciating different kinds of art, playing all kinds of games and having all kinds of new experiences.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books - The Catcher in the Rye, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, 100 Years of Solitude, Orwell, Vonnegut and Bukowski.

Movies - One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, American Beauty, Old Boy, 12 Angry Men, Everything Is Illuminated, Fight Club, I could list great movies forever...

Music - Punk, Soul, Ska, Rock N Roll, all kinds! Show me what you like!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Swam with sharks at night in Cairns, Oz.

Climbed up and then down the tallest mountain in the Carpathians.

Saw the night sky at the southern-most point in New Zealand, miles and miles from anywhere.

I know that's three but one just didn't seem enough :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can help you improve your English.
I can teach you to play guitar.
I can make you laugh (probably...).
I can introduce you to great movies, music and books.
I can talk all night with you about anything.
I can drink with you until dawn.

I would like to learn to surf, speak French and Spanish, experience anything new to me and have all kinds of crazy adventures.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Cool stories.
Interesting thoughts.
Funny jokes (I think).
A love of life.
Great music, art and literature.
