Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Obligatory hippie statement about seeking truth and connecting with people on a deeper spiritual level
ABOUT ME
I am a full time Eng/Writing student at a small liberal arts school (surprise, surprise). I have lived in Springfield about three years now and consider myself a bit of an expert on cheap (but delicious) food and drink in town.
PHILOSOPHY
I don't know what God has in store for my future but I can only hope that whether on a large or small scale; my life is defined by love and usefulness.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I live with two other guys in a decent sized house. We have two couches and an inflatable mattress, somewhere... We tend to have friends or family staying over often so I figure why not open our home to interesting strangers.

Interests
Most cliché, wannabe-hippie stuff: Hiking, camping, making/listening to music, good beer, Ultimate Frisbee, coffee, writing, reading, cooking, trying to learn to sew, anything new or adventurous

Music, Movies, and Books
I like most styles of music but I've been on a folk kick for a few years now. I love jamming with people, especially anyone who plays a unique or uncommon instrument. Writing songs has been an awesome outlet and release over the past few years.
Fav books: The Chosen, Siddhartha, Grapes of Wrath, Bible
Too many movies to list
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I recently spent some time with a couple, Chris and Stephanie; both addicted to meth, Chris cooked. I spent the better part of a day trying to get Chris to a detox center only to be denied because it was already out of his system. That afternoon was frustrating, at times nerve wracking, and an incredible learning experience. I finally caught a small glimpse of how desperately some people need love and compassion. I used to think of myself as a giving person but I realize now that we can pore out so much more and can have such an amazing impact if we simply let ourselves love wildly and live intentionally.
P.S. I do NOT condone the consumption or production of meth; it is an evil drug that destroys lives.
