ABOUT ME

I am a recovering cycle traveler. In 2009 I rode my bike from Lisbon, Portugal to Shanghai, China. Throughout my trip, whenever possible I tried to hook up with the local CS community. Now it's my turn to give back.

I'm a laid back guy living in the Riverwest neighborhood in Milwaukee.

PHILOSOPHY

Living free...that's my calling. Of course there are mundane routines we must all endure, but we must also always continue to pursue things which give our lives meaning.

In the summer I love to garden and be out in the fields and the woods. It's also the time for biking and hitting the road. Winter is the time to throw a log in the fire, do some woodworking and catch up on all the year's best books.

I have surfed across Europe and Asia while cycling from Lisbon to Shanghai.

Interests

I'm really interested in local history, food and culture. I travel mostly through the countryside and stay away from large cities, I believe these in-between spots are what really define a place. I enjoy 'tasting the town;' in other words, sampling a little bit from each place before bopping to the next. It's great to spend an evening hitting 4-5 restos!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Probably the single most amazing experience in recent memory is riding my bike in the Pamir mountains between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikitan. At 10,000 feet there is little besides a dirt road, a few yurts and massively beautiful mountains; and with no development it was all mine to experience.
