About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live completely, with integrity, guided by wisdom and love

ABOUT ME

I like to think I'm a thinker and independent-minded. Not a rebel though. I'm probably a typical 'Generation Xer' though I'm over my 'issues'. I'm down to Earth. I love meeting new people but at the same time am a loner, love my own company, never get bored. Love reading, culture etc but don't have much time for superficial stuff. I'm not impressed by status but rather by the core of a person, the integrity with which they're trying their best. Yup, I guess that's sort of it.

PHILOSOPHY

Listen.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hosted Lukasz & Ewelina for one night, all good!
Also Gaby and Ole - what a cool couple.
Although we did not plan to host during the World Cup, and I was mostly away, we got a last minute request from Andre Riekes and I bamboozled Ant into playing host. They ended up having a festive time together and became friends.

Interests

Gorsh, lemme see. Philosophy, environmental issues, writing (hobby), a bit of arty stuff when I get the chance e.g. painting, pottery, MY KIDS, my gorgeous hubby, my family, books books books, good movies (yurra yurra), people (fascinating aren't they, oops, we), oh, I like being active, walking, a bit surf-ski (altho a bit respectful of the sea) etc. Love the beach. Interested in politics but in the same way one visits the zoo. Oh, I hate zoos.Just by the way.

Music, Movies, and Books

Recently read 'the Miracle Life of Edgar P Mint' as well as 'The Secret Scripture' (not a religious book) have just started the Millenium Trilogy (The girl with the dragion Tattoo etc) Can't put it down!
More recently have started a classics phase, starting with Far from the Madding Crowd (delicious) and now Bleak House, stunning. Great for the soul; slows down the mania to revisit past mindsets and remember the issues don't change but the way we think is not the only way.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One day we were at the beach, and my husband said, 'look there, dolphins', and just beyond the breakers there was a pod. I'm quite wary of the sea, but I forced myself to go, and we swam right in amongst them. I put my head under the water and heard them talking, and when I came up i just shrieked with pure pleasure, couldn't help it. That has to be one of my all time highs; I realised that the other stuff I was having to handle was nothing compared to how beautiful life can be if you open yourself up to it. That was an awesome day, and I've had quite a lot of awesome stuff happen to me.

Teach, Learn, Share

I try to 'live in the now', appreciate every moment, listen to life, learn from wherever it comes. I like exploring new ideas, but not over analyzing.I like to think we all have something to learn from and teach each other if we are open to it. I'm quite good at helping people see things from a different point of view and love it when that happens to me.
