About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To take a big bite out of life and give something back in return.
ABOUT ME
Was an expedition river/sea kayak/hiking guide in US and several other countries until I got bad Rheumatoid Arthritis. It took me down for years. But now I'm back! I had to learn to walk again and now swim a mile a day! I'm happy and still going strong. I live next to Big Bend National Park, the Rio Grande River and beautiful, beautiful Mexico (just 10 miles from the Mexican border). I'm smack in the Chihuahuan desert. Life is good.
PHILOSOPHY
I am lucky to be here. I believe in taking care of the things we love. I try to spend my time loving and taking care of this awesome place where I live.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have time. I have a beautiful house I built myself from an 80 year old rock ruin. I have been a world traveler for years and now its my turn to give others the same opportunities I had. Its a good, big world.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have hosted, now its time to surf!
Interests
Anything outdoors. I presently work with a Mexican town and we have developed a quilting cottage industry so the women can work. I'm the historian of this little ghost town I live in.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love world music. I have never had a television and rarely watch movies. I love to cook. I read and take walks. I look at my wonderful view. I make fires. I am busy with these things.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
You'll just have to buy the book.
Teach, Learn, Share
I think I have the ability to act on my opinions, and live my philosophy because I live in a very small, cool, out-of-the-way place. This community isn't fettered by media, cell phones, fashion or government propaganda. We are all fully our own characters. I think this is hard to find in America. We have this here.
