ABOUT ME

Life, to me, is all about finding joy in the little things. Tongue twisters, bright colors, whimsical melodies, miniature versions of anything, baby animals...I get a kick out of it all. I like getting to know people, and learning what they're all about.

I am a musician (trumpet player) and an educator. I teach Spanish at a public high school in the Kansas City area. I love climbing trees, singing songs, laughing, trying my hand at new things, and doing handstands.

I devote myself to my interests with a burst of passion and pizzazz, constantly looking for ways to feed my curiosity and tickle my fancy.

PHILOSOPHY

There is something valuable to learn from everyone and everything. If we can get past ourselves for a moment to really invest in those around us, we can surely learn a great deal and live more fulfilling lives.

Also, laughter really is the best medicine. It's a fact.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I teach Spanish.
I play in a handful of symphonies and wind ensembles.
I assist with the high school marching band.
I sponsor the high school Student Council.
I attend my kid sister's plays and concerts.

Music: Movie Scores, Symphonic Orchestras, Folksy stuff, Indie stuff, Jazz, Michael Jackson at all ages, etc.

Books: I've never been really big on books, but I've recently discovered the genius of Stephen King novels. I also really love children's books.

Did I mention that my interests are include an incredibly wide variety of everything?

I know all about music and coloring. I'm also a Spanish teacher, so theoretically I can also teach you Spanish. I can also teach you a plethora of handy uses for baking soda, and how to draw a perfect file cabinet.
